The benefits of making a 'Things to do' list.

Last Monday I had a real attack of the January blues.  I started to feel overwhelmed by all the things that I have to do.  Planning my wedding, starting my new business and work.  It felt like I had frozen myself into doing nothing.  Where do I start?  I phoned my coaching mentor and heard myself starting to winge.  She listened patiently for a while as she always does and then said have you got a 'To do list?'  Eh well no actually!!! It's funny that when things feel a bit chaotic in your life you can forget  the basics.  To be honest I'm not a natural list maker but this has worked for me in the past and I knew it would be a simple yet effective solution to my current procrastion.  The internet is a wonderful resource and I knew there would be a useful template on there somewhere.  I found a great one on http://www.mindtools/.  Its helps you to prioritise things on your to do list and is so simple to use.  How to get things done.  Organise your life with a 'things to do list'.  I know that keeping a 'things to do list' will help you to organise your life better and I know that you will use it in the best way to suit you.

  1. Always a good idea, those to-do lists. I have two for my work sitting on my computer desktop.I got them through Microsoft Works.

  2. I have a master list by project and then a daily to do list that I have on my Ipad. I made a resolution to get more organized, so now I am taking the Ipad everywhere and every time I start to feel overwhelmed with tasks, I pull out the ipad and write down something on my list.

  3. To do lists are very helpful. I find that I get a lot more accomplished in a day if I have a list to refer to. I guess there is something about writing down what needs to be done, that helps me focus.
