A round tuit

Following on my last post on a 'things to do list'.  I first saw a plate on my  Uncle Brian's wall when I visited him as a teenager.  How many times have I heard people say this.  A perfect tool for all you procrastinators out there.

The benefits of making a 'Things to do' list.

Last Monday I had a real attack of the January blues.  I started to feel overwhelmed by all the things that I have to do.  Planning my wedding, starting my new business and work.  It felt like I had frozen myself into doing nothing.  Where do I start?  I phoned my coaching mentor and heard myself starting to winge.  She listened patiently for a while as she always does and then said have you got a 'To do list?'  Eh well no actually!!! It's funny that when things feel a bit chaotic in your life you can forget  the basics.  To be honest I'm not a natural list maker but this has worked for me in the past and I knew it would be a simple yet effective solution to my current procrastion.  The internet is a wonderful resource and I knew there would be a useful template on there somewhere.  I found a great one on http://www.mindtools/.  Its helps you to prioritise things on your to do list and is so simple to use.  How to get things done.  Organise your life with a 'things to do list'.  I know that keeping a 'things to do list' will help you to organise your life better and I know that you will use it in the best way to suit you.

Comfort zone

People often tell me that they would rather stick with what they know and don't want to change.  Yet they are bored and discontented with life. Contantly moaning about how unfair everything is and yet they remain unmotivated to make positive changes in their lives.  One of the major challenges people face and one that stops them moving moving forward is taking that first step out of their comfort zone.  I recently came across http://www.embody.co.uk/ the website of Bruce Stanby.  He write about the 'five rules of surviving outside of your comfort zone'.  He has created a circular diagram that represents your comfort zone.  The inner circle represent you comfort zone A where you may feel safe even though it may have negative aspects to it.  The middle circle represents zone B and is immediately outside your comfort zone.  The outer circle represents zone C.  Bruce says that if you find yourself in zone C then you have moved too far out of your comfort for it to have any positive impact.  Your comfort zone A will contain both negative and positive aspects.  It will feel safe and familiar. You might not be ready to take first step of your comfort zone right now but take a moment  to think about your own  your comfort zone.  What does it looks like?, What does it feels like? What does it sound like to you.  Your comfort zone will contain both positve and negative aspects.  Imagine for a moment that you have stepped out of your comfort and you have made a positive change to your life.  Feels good doesn't it.  I agree with Bruce in that you can only bring about positive change by stepping out of your comfort zone into zone B.  Of course initially this will be scary but this will soon be offset by the by the challenge and the learning and of the change itself.   You will know if you have drifted into zone C because you will feel that you are struggling for survival so take a step back into zone B.  Enjoy that excitment and embrance the change.  Everyone has the inner resources they need to make changes in their lives.  You know that don't you.

New blog

Hi to everyone, this is my new blog. I look forward to talking to you all in 2012.

I CAN HELP

I am an expert Wellbeing Coach. Life Coaching is not counselling and as an emotional Wellbeing Coach I can help with those situations in life that affect your emotional well being.

Everyone has the personal resources to succeed. Most people have not been shown how to access those resources. I have always believed that by focussing on your emotional wellbeing you will begin to develop the inner strength, resilience and self esteem to cope with life’s problems and make the most of life’s opportunities. I will show you how to access yours. From our first session you will have tools to use that will make a change in your life.

When you become emotionally healthy you will have the ability to make positive changes and be able to visualise the future that you really want. When you know what you want, accept the ability you have to create it, you will have the confidence to make changes.

You may have felt stuck in a rut and couldn't seem to see a way out. That can change. By taking care of your emotional health because it is important, you will feel in control of your emotions and be able to keep your stress levels down. I will talk you through the techniques that will help you create the changes you need. You feel different and other’s will notice the change.

Talking about things that are important to you is the first step. When you have a clear picture of where you are going in life you will have the motivation to fulfil your purpose.
